The industrialisation of milking animals begun about 120 years ago and for the last 80 years the principle of the milking process carried out by milking liners has  remained almost the same. The MilkingWay™ technology has been in development for about 10 years since its inception, and significant research and testing has taken place in 3 market leading OEMs farms, as well as in individual farms and the Vetsuisse farm of the University of Bern, Switzerland, under Professor. Rupert Bruckmaier, a leading expert on animal physiology.

At the same time, and through our experience in the field based on the issues faced by farmers, and the practical solutions that could further assist the productivity and the hygiene of the farm, we’ve developed another proprietary asset and very convenient approach to teat cleaning in the parlor.

Teat cleaning is a very important task and takes place about 60 seconds before the milking equipment operator installs the milking systems. This serves not only to disinfect the teat and avoid foreign material to potentially pass into the milk, but also as a neurohormonal stimulation for the release of oxytocin and milk let-down from the animal. The teat is washed with water by hand and dried by hand (tissue or similar). When the milking is done, another process is applied by which the teat is coated with a disinfectant or similar substance to ensure it remains clean and safe from pathogen intrusion for as long as possible post milking. Our approach is to combine all the sanitation and teat stimulation elements inside a modern and compact device which covers all the actions that need to be taken before and after milking. It allows the operator to wash, dry, pre-stimulate, pre-milk and then post-cure two teats at the same time, with the same device.
