ABSTRACT

The presented invention is related to a pivot system and a method to facilitate the function of the user’s ankle and right foot heel in vehicles that apply the foot gas and brake control system, through the process of changing the toe position from gas pedal to the brake pedal and vice versa. This is achieved through the pivot system that enables movements according to the vertical and horizontal plane of the system by minimising the frictional forces between the user’s footwear heel and the vehicle’s carpet to provide less load for the muscles, tendons and ankle in each changing cycle of the toe position with the brake and accelerator pedal.

SCIENTIFIC TECHNICAL FIELD

The presented invention is related to a pivot system and method that facilitates vertical and horizontal movements of the heel, ankle, muscles and tendons of the user’s right foot during the process of shifting the foot from the brake pedal to the accelerator pedal and vice versa, when the user drives the vehicle.

BACKGROUND OF INVENTION

Despite the evolution of technologies and equipment used today in the automotive industry for the transportation of people and goods, as well as on the user’s right footwear heel, from the prior art search, the inventors did not find  (ascertain) similar devices or apparatus, which would allow comparisons regarding the proposed invention and which could reflect possible limitations of prior art.

In general, most vehicles and users’ footwear do not contain any equipment or apparatus, either as accessories or embodied on the floor of the vehicle or on the heel of the foot to facilitate the ankle and heel of the user’s foot when changing the position of the heel from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal and vice versa. Generally the right heel of the user’s footwear (shoe) rests on the vehicle carpet.

A number of limitations related to the health of the ankle of the user’s right foot while using (driving) for a long time the vehicle may result in ankle fatigue and ongoing (in continuity) lateral  effects for users may be encountered. In addition, the frictional forces between the carpet and the heel of the shoe make it possible for the shoes to be worn and distorted only on one of the heels of the user’s shoe, which would subsequently lead to health costs during the walking process for the user as well as monetary additional costs due to footwear heel consumption (wear).

More specifically, a foot with overtired ankle, muscles and tendon by frequent shift of the pedal position and a deformed shoe (footwear) heel would show limitations, which are later related to the user’s body posture after the process of driving the vehicle, which would be transmitted to his upright physical posture and health.

As such an element, in order to cover effectively these necessities, a system and method is needed to relieve the user’s foot ankle, muscles, tendons and heel when changing the foot position from the accelerator to the brake and vice versa. Taking into account the above-mentioned limitations, related to functionality, practicality, users’ health and the costs created by shoe breakage, a new system and method to overcome these limitations, and to ensure the following advantages, is needed.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION

The main purpose of the invention is to provide a new system and method for relieving the user’s ankle, muscle, tendon and heel when changing the foot position from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal and vice versa.

The increase in efficiency is achieved by minimising the frictional forces between the user’s footwear heel and the contact surface with the vehicle carpet,  providing less load to the muscles, tendons and  ankle for a every shift cycle of the foot position by means of the brake and accelerator pedals.

The efficiency increase for users is also achieved by allowing a more productive  application of the pivot system, between the footwear heel, the vehicle carpet, and the foot contact with the brake and accelerator pedals.

Another invention purpose is to provide a healthy system of application and exercise of the ankle, muscles, tendons, heel and foot, which should be adaptable to different users, taking into account the differentiation and features of the characteristics of the feet and heels, as well as the sensitivity having been increased due to possible injuries the  users have had before.

This is achieved through the design of the system, which is designed to carry out a function and method, which  fits any possible user’s right footwear heel shape.

Another intention of invention is to provide a practical method of application that significantly reduces the injury potential of the user’s ankle while maintaining an equal optimal performance, especially for individuals who have ankle’s health problems.

This is achieved by means of pivot system by eliminating the frictional forces between the footwear heel and the surface on which the user’s heel rests.

A further advantage of the system and method is the fact that eliminates significantly mechanical loads interacting between footwear heel and the carpet compared to actual friction forces  occurring between the footwear heel and the vehicle carpet.

These characteristics besides other advantages, characterising the invention, are achieved by a system and method that has the main characteristics as defined in the relevant claims and will become apparent by examining the detailed description of preferred embodiments, where references and numbers correspond to the relevant elements throughout the description.
